From volunteering in public school classrooms to full-time teaching at a parochial day school, I have been drawn over and
over again to teaching. It has taken many years, however, to fully recognize that education is my vocation.
A native of the South, I have lived in the mid-Atlantic
area for the past 20 years. All my children were students in Montgomery County, MD schools,
where I was frequently involved in both volunteer activities and employed part-time in after-school programs. I
later worked professionally in independent schools as both a pre-K and kindergarten teacher. A move to the Philadelphia
suburbs two years ago gave me the opportunity to take the next step in my vocation and pursue Pennsylvania certification.
Currently my husband and I live in
Wayne, PA. My pastimes include bird-watching, crossword
puzzles and visits with our children. My life has been quite a journey, and I look forward to seeing what is around the next
bend in the road.
